5 reasons why working abroad helped me

To make sure you wont waist your time first off starting by clickin here and this for me to put a smile on your face. Now lets begin.

A friend shared with me this amazing story.

Can you pinpoint the pivotal time in your life when you became an adult? For me, it was when I finally left my home to go traveling.
I took a working holiday in New Zealand for six months and while I was there I met my English boyfriend and lived in England with him for 14 months. During these 20 months of travel I grew more than I ever could have if I had stayed in Canada.
When I left Canada at the age of 22 I was confused and conflicted. I wondered what my future would bring and I had only a slight inkling that there was so much more to see and do in the great big world out there. When I returned to Canada at age 24 after having worked and lived abroad in New Zealand and England for two years I was a strong and confident adult with a plan for my future. Here are five of the ways that working abroad helped me to grow up:

1. I learned to trust my future self

Before I went to work abroad, I used to get panicked when I thought about my future. I was worried that I would make a wrong choice and I would never be able to accomplish all of the things that I dreamed of doing.
Luckily, I found myself working as a tour guide at a creepy old haunted prison by the sea in New Zealand and met a confident, irreverent, hilarious and completely fearless English guy who taught me one of the most important lessons of my life; how to trust my future self.
He showed me that I didn’t have to have it all figured out. I needed to focus on the here and now. Lee gave me a huge gift, the confidence to trust myself to make the right choice when the time comes for that decision to be made. Now I still don’t know what I will do with my life, but I don’t worry about it anymore because I trust myself to make it awesome.

2. I learned when to quit

When I was in Christchurch New Zealand on a working holiday New Zealand visa I struggled to find a job for a while and finally got a position fundraising for Green Peace.
I wanted to do my part to help the environment but what I didn’t realize was that “chugging” (or “charity mugging” as they call it in the UK) was completely wrong for me. I hated approaching people who were simply trying to walk down the street and guilt-tripping them about melting ice caps and polar bears. Yes, the issues were important, but I felt uncomfortable using the pushy salesperson techniques that we had been taught to sway people into donating. I cracked under the pressure of making a quota every week.
One Tuesday afternoon only a few weeks into the job, I realized that I simply could not approach one more stranger. I quit. You might say that was a stupid decision because I really needed the money. However, I think it’s important to learn when to quit something if it is completely making you feel miserable every second of the day.

3. I gained a work ethic

Of course, since I had quit my job at Greenpeace and decided to go to England with Lee on a UK work permit I had absolutely no money and I was due to learn another important lesson.
When I arrived in Accrington, a small working class town in Northern England, I needed a job desperately and I took anything I could find. I ended up working at a nursery and I was immediately thrown into 45 hours per week of changing dirty nappies, calming down crying babies, entertaining restless three year olds and wiping up never ending spills. I enjoyed it because I love kids, but it was hard work.
Up until then, I had been a high achieving Canadian honour student who had studied Fine Arts at University. I had never had a full time job that had been more than a summer gig and those don’t really count because I always knew I would be taking it easy back at school in a few months. I worked in that job for 10 months and finally learned what a full work week is like.

4. I used that work ethic to create my dream job

The experience of working at the nursery in Accrington taught me two things. First of all, it was like endurance training which made me better at working hard for long hours. Second of all, it made me realize that if I had the potential to work this hard I wanted to be working for myself doing something I love, not for minimum wage for someone else.
Writing is my passion so I began building up a name for myself as a freelance writer on evenings and weekends. My writing portfolio slowly grew and I took on more assignments. After a while I reduced my hours to part time at the nursery because my writing had grown so much.
Eventually after about a year I was able to quit my “day job” and earn more money from writing full time. These days I make my own hours, work from anywhere in the world and have total control over the writing projects that I do. However, there was no way that I could have logged the hours to build the freelance career that I have now with a lazy university student sense of entitlement, I needed to have the work ethic that I learned in Accrington.

5. I made a life of my own design, not anyone else’s

Perhaps part of the reason why I had been so confused and conflicted before I went traveling was because I was so worried about making my life fit in with everyone else’s expectations. I was putting too much weight on what others would think.
Working abroad in another country gives you a chance to wipe the slate clean of all other previous constructs you have made of yourself. If you have been following a life path that is even a little bit designed to please others, it will never make you truly happy.
During those two years abroad I thought about what I really wanted to do with my life right now in my 20s. The answer was easy, I wanted to write and I wanted to travel. So what did I do? I worked as hard as I could to set up a career as a freelance writer so that I could making a living remotely and then took off to travel the world. Right now I am sitting in a hotel room in the Cameron Highlands region of Malaysia, looking out the window at the lush green jungle hills.
I have learned that trying to make your life fit into someone else’s expectations simply doesn’t work. What you will realize is that it is an impossible goal, because someone will always chime in with their two cents about what you “should” be doing. You can’t please anyone, so stop trying. Simply decide what it is you love to do and then direct all of your energy into making it your reality, even if it is unconventional.
Working abroad changed my life in so many ways and I have never been happier and more confident than I am now. I am so grateful for the things that my travels have taught me and as I continue to travel I look forward to learning more.

How To Use Facebook to Market Your Blog

We all know Facebook is huge. Just how huge it is, though, is something to behold. Thelatest estimates I’ve heard is that Facebook is signing up around 450,000 new users – PER DAY. With those kinds of numbers, Facebook starts to stand out as one hell of a marketing opportunity.
If you are not active on Facebook, stop messing around and sign up. However, chances are you are on Facebook. Now, how do you use it as a blogger?
One of the great things about Facebook is that it is designed to go viral. Whenever one of your friends does something, you see it on your Facebook home feed. So, if you post a new note, your friends will see it. If somebody joins your fan page (see below), all their friends will see it.
Here are some steps you can take to promote your blog on Facebook.

1. Import Your New Posts

You can import your new blog posts into Facebook as “notes”. Essentially, this brings your blog content to Facebook. Your new posts will show up on your friends’ activity lists.
To set this up, just go to your Notes tab in your Facebook profile. Go to post a new note and you should see an option to “automatically import activity” to your profile. You’ll have it import from a blog/RSS feed and you’ll just plug into your blog’s RSS feed.
Facebook’s site has never been super intuitive, but with a little hunting you should find it.

2. Set up a Fan Page

Picture 4Both of my blogs have fan pages set up on Facebook. You can visit the one for David Risley dot com right here.
Now, why did I set up a fan page? Is it because I’m some kind of egomaniac? Not exactly. It is because a fan page is yet another way for people to connect with you and/or your blog. Again, I import my posts into this fan page. In short, a little Facebook community can build up around your blog on Facebook.
To set up a page on Facebook, you need to visit the “Page Manager” which is found in the bottom menu of Facebook’s site. Click on the “Pages” tab, then “Create Page”.
The other thing about a fan page is that you can email your fans en mass. With normal Facebook friends, you cannot email them en mass. Last I checked, I believe you can only email 20 of your friends at a time.

3. Set up a Faebook Group

A group page is a very similar concept to a fan page, except that it is an independent group focused on some specific topic.
You can make the group about anything you want, but it would be recommended to make it related to your blog’s market in some way if you’re looking to market your site.

4. Facebook Videos

If you create videos for your blog, why not post them to Facebook, too? If your video has your blog’s URL in it (and it should), then that is even more exposure for your site.

Decide Your Approach

Facebook opens up fantastic marketing opportunities for people who are able to adapt to the new way of marketing.
But, you will need to make a decision on how you wish to approach it. Some people like to use Facebook only for personal connections. Others like to open it up to anybody even if they’ve never met.
I tend to use Facebook to connect with everybody, both friends, family and even my blog readers. But, if you don’t like opening up that much, you can always be friends only with hand-picked people and allow everybody to just become your fan if they are a reader of your blog.
However you do it, don’t discount Facebook. It will prove to be a huge mistake

Letting go of someone you love

Does the past have a firm, unhealthy hold on you? These tips for letting go of someone you love apply to all types of loss, from long ago and to yesterday.
Before the tips, a quip:
“Relationships are like glass. Sometimes it’s better to leave them broken than try to hurt yourself putting them back together.” ~ Unknown.
This is one of my favorite quotations on letting go because it’s true – sometimes it’s worse (in the long run) to try to get back together. Sometimes you need to keep forging ahead, and learn to survive heartbreak.
Here are a few tips for letting go of someone you love…

How to Let Go of Someone You Love

In 75 Ways to Let Go of Someone You Love I share what I learned from my interviews with psychologists, life coaches, counselors, and grief experts on the best ways to cope with and heal from loss. If you feel hopeless and depressed, get that e-book. It’ll help you see that you’re not alone, and it’ll help you move on from the past.
Also, read the comments below. So many people are struggling with the same thoughts, heartache, and shattered dreams. It helps to know you’re not alone, doesn’t it?

Remember both the good and the bad parts of the relationship

When you’ve lost someone you love, it’s easy to focus on the great parts of your relationship and life together. But, there was a reason you broke up — maybe even several reasons! Don’t ignore the “bad” parts of the relationship and idealize the best parts…instead, keep reminding yourself that you’re letting go of the past because holding on to it isn’t good for you.

Accept that your loss may always hurt or confuse you

Some things, we never ever get over — but we can still live full, rewarding lives and achieve our goals! Part of letting go of someone you love is accepthing that you may never have all the answers. For instance, my sister cut me out of her life five years ago. She told me she didn’t want to speak to me again and wouldn’t tell me why. That was the ultimate lesson in powerlessness and letting go…and that’s why I wrote Letting Go of Someone You Love.

Accept your lack of control over other people

No matter how “good”, smart, helpful, giving, or attractive you are, you can’t control other people. If they leave you, they have their reasons…and sometimes those reasons have nothing to do with you. The sooner you accept your lack of control, the easier it’ll be to let go of someone you love.

Rebuild yourself

Your losses, heartbreaks, setbacks, and disappointments have made you a different person — a better, more unique, more compassionate person! Instead of mourning what was or what could have been, start something new in your life. Think about what goals you should set for your life. Volunteer, take a solo vacation, join a new gym, take a night class, join a support group, check out a new social club, quit your job, and set new life goals. Rebuild your life — set new life goals.

Remember that letting go of love doesn’t happen overnight

Letting go of the past isn’t something you do once – and poof! You’re free, healed, and happy! Rather, letting go is a journey peppered with steps forward and steps backward, good days and bad days. I grew up in foster homes, and was constantly saying hello and good-bye to new families, friends, and cities. I learned how to love, let go, and open my heart to love again. And I’ve survived those heart-wrenching, gut-twisting breakups that slam you to the ground and rip you to pieces. Letting go is a process that takes time.

Do all men cheat?

A lot of men see cheating like this; do you remember college and how you paid for it? Let’s take that for example, let’s say tuition was $10,000, and you got financial aid for $7,500. How did you get the remaining $2,500? Anyway you could! And there was nothing wrong with that. That’s basically how men view cheating. They typically are going out there to fill a gap. (Be advised, this gap may just be, thrill and adventure.)
Do all men cheat? The short answer is, well, most do. There are tons of articles out on the Internet everyday about why men cheat, and how all men are dogs, and that it’s easy to assume that every man cheats. I’ll save you the time of reading them and I will tell you that there are men who do NOT cheat, yes, there are a few men who do NOT cheat, lol. But, here’s the real reason why men cheat…
…because they can.
The harsh reality of it is, men cheat a lot. Society enables us to cheat, and we feel obliged. It would be one thing if a man had to work really hard to cheat, but because women are bat sh*t crazy they don’t. Women will knowingly sleep with married men or men in relationships because to them there aren’t any real ties. Women sometimes prefer ignorance over knowledge when it comes to men. They make it too easy for a guy. When a guy says, “let’s keep this on the low” there should be a neon sign that goes off in your head that says, “GIRLFRIEND, GIRLFRIEND, GIRLFRIEND.” If he won’t introduce you to his friends, or let you come over to his place (or spend the night), or if you notice that he’s always fresh out of protection, he’s cheating on you, or you aren’t the main chick. However, women turn a blind eye to this behavior.
In addition, there’s something about having the power to have anything you want when you want it. Have you seen that State Farm commercial when the guy yells out, “AND CAN I GET A HOT TUB?!” and it magically appears. Men love to be able to have on-demand wishes. There’s nothing like seeing just how far a woman will let you go. How many times can I shade her when I see her in public? How many times can I ignore her texts? How many times can I tell all my peoples I don’t know who she is? And then, text her at 2:30AM and say, “come thru” and she breaks her neck to drive over wasted from the club.
And sometimes, men are missing something at home and seek to obtain it elsewhere. (<– Weak excuse.) If you’re significant other isn’t producing at home, then you need to let them know. But I mean, maybe a guy just wants to say some dirty things to the woman he’s having sex with. But he doesn’t want to call his wife, “b*tch” or “sl*t.” Maybe he’s not getting “serviced” regularly and keeps the company of a side piece who has an oral fixation. I’ll give you scenario from our previous example, if you end up going to a school you can afford, for instance, Howard instead of Harvard. You can’t be mad that you can’t register for classes online. You get what you pay for.
To be honest with you, if you want to keep a man from cheating, you might just have to take away his ability to cheat. And a lot of women do this very well. I had a boy who got caught cheating on his ex-girlfriend, by his current girlfriend and he got in trouble for it. She basically found out through the grapevine that he cheated on his ex. Do you know what she did? She made him give her all of his passwords: voicemail, facebook, gmail, AIM, etc. And when he goes out at night he has to call every 30 seconds, I mean minutes, to check-in. I guess this is why Chris Rock says when you get caught cheating break up with the girl. A few years later go by and he chose to marry this girl. Would you believe me when I tell you, I was at this guy’s bachelor party and he had the perfect opportunity to cheat and he DIDN’T? He was like an unfenced cow, all that grass in front of him and he didn’t do anything.
I wonder sometimes, that if you have to go through such great lengths to keep a man from cheating, is he worth it?
Before I go, a word about the men who do not cheat. There are men out there who do not cheat. People, men or women who say it’s in our nature, are less than human. It is not in our nature. That’s what makes us different than animals, the ability to not submit to our instincts. There are men out there who have grown up. They want wives and children and they want those relationships to grow in a healthy and fulfilling manner. They appreciate and respect the challenge of being faithful and the rewards it brings. The comfort of being able to trust your partner and exhibit self-control.
Sometimes women excuse men’s behavior on thinking with their wayward regions, that’s a cop out. Every thought goes through your brain. Every single thought. If you put the baddest supermodel in the world in front of me and told me she had HIV, I’d go LIMP immediately. While most men do cheat, there are several of us, who think things through and think about what we really want out of life. Besides, if cheating was natural, then it wouldn’t be called cheating.

make money on youtube/worldstarhiphop

If you are an artist on a label or an independent artist or indie label putting your videos up on World Star Hip Hop, you may be losing out on significant revenue by rushing to get it up there. In the last 8 months, I have spoken with 6 artists that have gotten over 10,000,000 combined views on videos on World Star Hip Hop and received ZERO compensation from this. Why? How? This is because people rush to get the video to the label and let the label or someone who is only focused on being on the front of World Star Hip Hop put the video up there.
You need to realize that you are responsible for helping World Star Hip Hop grow and be seen. There is something called In Video advertising where ads run in the bottom of the video before the video starts. If you receive 4,000,000 views of your video and there are instream ads that pay YOU a pay per click dollar amount, you could have earned $.10 or more per click when people click on the ad. Also, you can earn money from YouTube if you’re the person who takes the original video and uploads it to YouTube when it also receives 2,000,000 views.
There is money in the advertising and the amount of views that a popular video gets. Artists are losing money by not knowing about this and not knowing how to get paid to get their videos up there.

loose weight fast

The fastest way to start losing significant weight is to undergo a detox diet to flush out the toxins that clog up your colon and poison your body. Taking care of the body is the fastest way to lose weight fast. What you need to understand about excessive weight gain and is that the majority of the foods that we think we're eating that are healthy really are not. The only truly healthy meals do not come in a can or aren't processed and packed with preservatives. Your system is not designed to digest all those different types of fake foods advertised on TV.
What's truly creating lots of issues for us is the insufficient healthy nutritional foods and an overabundance of foods that tend to clog the body and make it hard for your system to run efficiently. The colon also becomes clogged up causing more issues. You need to clean and "grease up the engine" a little bit.
The bottom line right here is that you have to detox your body and cleanse your colon in order to truly lose weight fast and keep it off.
Step 2. >> Choose A Diet Plan And Save Money
There are so many diets available, you’ll need to do some research to find out which one will be the best choice for you. Physicians overwhelmingly recommend Weight Watchers because of the lifestyle changes it encourages. Also the success rate is phenomenal. If this really is the diet for you, you’ll need to download the coupons toolbar and get free Weight Watchers Coupons. They give great discounts for activities and food.
The South Beach Diet is also very popular with physicians and people who truly need to lose weight fast in a healthy way. The South Beach Diet plan was created to help enhance the lives of those at danger for heart disease. It is a healthy diet. If this diet plan is for you, check out South Beach Coupons, and save on each and every pound you lose.
Many celebrities and a large number of other people have effectively lost weight with Jenny Craig. Try it for your self with free Jenny Craig Coupons. There are dozens of other effective, healthy diets you can use to lose weight. Get the coupons for your preferred diet plan which includes Lean Cuisine CouponsNutriSystem Coupons, and numerous much more.
To help you keep motivated during this process, start a daily journal and track your progress. Write down what you eat daily, what exercises you're doing and for how long. Your mind is looking for fast satisfaction so being able to track progress is going to help you stay on course.

Step 3. >> Restore Your Acid-Alkaline (pH) Balance
The single major cause of disease and obesity is acidic residue, caused by our improper imbalanced diet. All this talk about calories is just nonsense. I bet you know plenty of people eating how much they want and not gain weight. How come? They have a more alkaline diet by eating more fruits and vegetables. It's not about calories, it's  about pH.
Most high protein foods and "fake foods" (like doritos, cheerios...) have a higher acidity level than your body. So the body starts producing fat tissue to "glue" to the acidic  molecules to try to get back to the normal pH level. Once you start eating a more alkalizing diet, the body's need for fat decreases and you'll start losing  weight.

How to make money online

Hi Lynn! I actually hear this question a lot, so you’re not alone. In fact there are 161 searches every day for “how to make money online for beginners” and more than 700/day for “how to make money online”
There are a number of ways to make money online. Options range from creating your own product to sell online, making money as a professional blogger, managing an online community, developing a content site on a hot topic – just to name a few.
All of these are just various ways to deliver content online. Your first step will bechoosing a niche, which is the market or topic you are going to focus on.
Speaking of focus, with so many options to make money online – focus is key. You want to choose a niche and a business model, and work on that one project all the way from start to profit. Don’t let all the other options distract or derail you. ;)
Once you decide on a topic or niche, you should sit down and map out a plan for your internet business model. What market are you targeting, and how can you best serve that market? This is the angle you want to work from, vs the more common: how can I make the most money from this market? (Most people get it backwards and then get frustrated when that doesn’t work out for them)
So you choose a niche, create a blog or website, set up social media profiles to interact with your target market on the topic, and you create and share useful content that will build your reputation and readership in that niche.
I can hear what you’re saying…
“That all sounds great, but how do I make money from it?”
How to Make Money Online (For Beginners)
The absolute easiest way to make money online is with Affiliate Marketing. You don’t have to create a product, set up a shopping cart and merchant account, do customer service, work with clients, etc. It’s very much like a traditional commission-based sales job where you earn commission on any sales you refer.
The difference is that you’re doing it online, and you can do it from home without ever doing in-person or phone sales. You simply recommend products and/or refer people to specific merchants through the content on your website.
The method I prefer is creating SEO Content, or content that is optimized to rank well in the major search engines. People find it when they are searching for that, click through, and buy what they need or want. This works really well because you write the content once, and it continues to rank well and earn you money for years to come. As long as you maintain your search engine rankings.
“How can I make 3-4k a month or more? What steps will it take to get there?”
I know this is stating the obvious, but it should be said: It takes time, work, and being both persistent and consistent. An online business is the same as any other business in that it requires an investment on your part to get it up and running. The positive side of online business is that it takes a lot less time and money than most traditional offline business models.

Create an affiliate website

Getting Started
One of the most important things to remember when starting in affiliate marketing is that you will be able to create a better, more informative and ultimately more successful website if you are basing it around a subject you have some knowledge about. If, for example, you consider yourself a bit of an armchair football pundit you should consider using this as the topic of your website. Not only will this ensure that your enthusiasm levels for the project remain high for longer, it should also help you to write better content and persuade visitors to return.
People come to affiliate marketing from a wide variety of occupations and backgrounds. Some new affiliates might already have been working in the new media sector and have a handle on the more technical aspects of website building already but many are completely new to website building and feel confused about where to start.
Deciding on a web address
The first step to a successful career in affiliate marketing is to decide upon a web address. Before you decide on a name, remember that this is one of the most important decisions you will make with your new website. The web address is often the first impression that people get about you so make sure the impression it gives is a professional one.
Furthermore, the web address should reflect the kind of products you are promoting so if your website was promoting website design software you might look at registering www.websitedesignsoftware.co.uk
It is good to choose a domain name that “does exactly what is says on the tin” like in the example above as it helps people to find you for the first time. Using appropriate keywords in your domain name is very important as many of the search engines including Google, Yahoo and MSN give greater importance, and hence a better search engine position to websites whose domain names match the search terms typed in by the user.
If you are having trouble finding a domain name consisting of your chosen keywords that is not already taken, it is worth remembering that you can include hyphens in the name. It is also worth remembering that in order to make your domain name memorable to users who visit your website you should not include too many words in the name. Three words is the optimum length.
For example http://www.website-design-software.com
This gives you three keywords and any combination of these entered into a search engine should bring up your website more prominently once your site has been indexed, provided that you follow the other tips on optimising for search engines which will be mentioned in later articles.
It is actually often preferable to use a hyphenated domain name like the one above, as opposed to having the words run together. This is because Google et al see the hyphens between the words as spaces and therefore know that you are using the keywords “website design software” rather than “websited esigns oftware” for example.
Choosing a web hosting company.
As well as selecting a domain name to use, you must select a company to “host” your website. This is a critical decision which can either make running a website extremely easy or a living hell, depending on the quality of the company you decide on. My advice would be to ask around other people who have similar web hosting needs to yourself, see who they are with and whether they recommend them. Remember to find out what you will be getting for your money as there are lots of packages around with wildly varying specifications.
It can all seem a bit confusing at first with all the different terms used as well. One of the most important of these is “Bandwidth”. Bandwidth is a measure of how much traffic your website can handle. Many companies will charge you extra if you go over the agreed bandwidth limit in any given month so it is worth ensuring from the start that you have enough, not just for now but for when your site becomes more popular. Generally speaking, the more bandwidth the better is a good motto to go with. It is measured in Gigabytes (GB) and if you have a choice between more bandwidth and more web space, I would advise you to go for bandwidth.
Web space.
Different web hosts will offer you varying amounts of web space. It is worth remembering that it is extremely unlikely, even if your site grows a lot, that you will need hundreds or thousands of megabytes (MB) of web space.
There are some companies that come with a very good reputation already established and perhaps the foremost of these is 1&1 They are offering six months of free business hosting at the moment and are most certainly worth a look.
To have a more in-depth look at some of the web hosting terms and types of package available, you can skip to the “web hosting: further info” page. This may be too much detail for most readers as it is quite an in-depth piece. For that reason, it is in a separate section, further on in this ebook.

Designing your website
Now that you have your domain name and web space, it is time to think about actually designing your website. A basic knowledge of html is certainly useful but by no means required. Other website design programs are NetObjects Fusion and Microsoft Frontpage. Whilst these aren’t as fully featured as Dreamweaver, they are perhaps easier to understand for the novice user.
